4-H Teen Leader Program 2025
Want to enhance your leadership skills while also having a great time? Apply to be a 4-H Teen Leader this summer with Beaufort County 4-H!
The purpose of the summer teen leadership program is to offer teens leadership experiences as well as a reference for their first job. This volunteer experience will provide hours needed for BETA, CTE, etc. To get credit, you would need to submit for signature upon completion of this program.Program Requirements
- Must be between “4-H Age” 13-18 as of January 1, 2025 to apply
- Online Applications submitted by May 23
- Reference from adult (not a parent/guardian) submitted by May 23
- Enroll as a 4-H member for this program year at 4honline.com
- Attend trainings at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center
- Thursday, May 29 – 3:30-4:45 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 3 – 3:30-4:45 p.m.
- Thursday, June 5 – 3:30-4:45 p.m.
- Volunteer as scheduled for 4-H Summer Fun Day Camps
Volunteer Opportunities
- June 10-12 - 4-H Critter Camp - Environmental education themed camp held at Goose Creek State Park for 5-7 year olds. Volunteer times are from 9:00 a.m.-1 p.m. each day
- June 16-18 - 4-H Camp Wannagoma - Environmental education themed camp held at Goose Creek State Park for 8-12 year olds. Volunteer times are from 9:00 a.m.-1 p.m. each day
- July 16-17 - 4-H Little Scientists - Science themed camp held at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center for 5-7 year olds. Volunteer times are from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day
- August 7-8 – 4-H Cooking Camp Jr - Cooking themed day camp held at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center for 7-9 year olds. Volunteer times are from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. each day
- August 12-14 – 4-H Cooking Camp - Cooking themed day camp held at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center for 10-14 year olds. Volunteer times are from 9:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. each day
FAQ
- Do I have to volunteer at all of the 4-H day camps? No, you can select which camps you would like to volunteer for.
- What if I have a prior commitment and cannot attend one of the required trainings? Contact the 4-H Agent after you apply and she can work with your schedule.
