Basic Information
Location: N.C. Cooperative Extension, Beaufort County Center Timeline: May-July, 2025 Time Commitment: Part-time, average 16-20 hours per week (additional hours for the week of 4-H Camp and 4-H Congress) Pay: $15/hour Immediate/Site Supervisor: Chasady Wudkwych
Position Description & Responsibilities:
- Assist 4-H Agent in facilitating youth summer fun day camps and special interest programs.
- Present a positive image of 4-H and its programs to the community, volunteers, parents, and youth.
- Create, implement, and evaluate hands-on activities for youth and families relating to environmental education, gardening, healthy living, cooking, etc.
- Compose articles, success stories, and marketing materials for 4-H.
- Take youth to 4-H Summer Camp at Eastern 4-H Center as primary adult in charge June 22-27, 2025.
- Take youth to 4-H Congress at NC State University as primary adult in charge July 21-25, 2025.
Required Qualifications:
- Enjoy working with youth.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Willingness to take a group of up to 6 children to 4-H camp and 4-H Congress and be the primary adult in charge.
- Consent to a criminal and traffic background check.
- At least 21 years of age - required to drive a 15 passenger van.
- Able to work independently.
Additional Information
It will be a busy, fun filled summer especially if applicant likes working outdoors with children. A lot of the Beaufort County 4-H summer fun programming is geared toward environmental education.
