- Complete the background check process with NC State University.
- You will be contacted by a representative from NC State University to complete your background check. In this invitation, you may be referred to as a prospective employee. We understand that this is not the case and that you are only applying to become a volunteer. This is just the code that is utilized with our background check department and will not have any bearings on your application. Please continue to proceed.
- Your background check invitation is time-sensitive and will need to be completed in a timely manner. The expiration of the request will require the background request to be started over again, and thus delay your application. Please complete the information necessary as soon as possible.
- Depending on your level of involvement and your volunteer job description, financial and driving checks may be conducted as well. All of this information will be requested at the same time.
- None of your personal information is ever shared with the agent or the office. The agent is only given a pass/fail response upon completion.
- Attend Volunteer Leader training at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Beaufort County office.
- Chasady will reach out to you once the background check comes back approved.
- IF your club chooses to handle funds, an approved volunteer must meet with the agent to discuss the process and gain approval. Clubs handling funds must follow all N.C. 4-H guidelines on handling funds to include electing a youth treasurer, maintaining accurate financial records and proper documentation. Your agent will work with you on compliance to be included under the NC State University GEN (general exemption number).
