2017 Blackland Farm Managers Tour (August 2)

The 2017 Blackland Farm Managers Tour will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at Green Valley Farms in Columbia (7014 NC-94, Columbia). Registration and the vendor fair will begin at 7:00 AM.

Opening remarks begin at 8:00 AM. Field sessions will begin at 9:00 AM and end around 12:30 PM.

Kevin Matthews, owner of Matthews Family Farms in Yadkin County, will be presenting during lunch.

-Anna-Beth Williams – Oveview of On-Farm Tests

-Scott Tilley – Sorghum Varieties

-Dr. Ron Heiniger – Micronutrients and Fertilizer Placement and Timing in Corn

-Dr. Carl Crozier – Corn Starter Fertilizer

-Dr. David Hardy – Potassium Response in Corn

-Dr. Wes Everman – Weed Management

-Dr. Dominic Reisig – Looper Recommendations and Insect Management

-Dr. Jim Dunphy – Foliar Yield Enhancement and Maximum Dryland Yield

-Dr. Lindsey Thiessen – Nematode Management
