Warm Season Turf, Pesticide, and Pollinator Update

Register Now for the Warm Season Turf, Pesticide, and Pollinator Update for Professionals on February 23! Get your NCLCLB Business and Landscape continuing education credits at this workshop for professionals!

This course will begin with an update from North Carolina Landscape Contractors’ License Board Member, Chad MacAvery on the licensing process, the new licensing requirements, why you, as a landscape professional, should have a license, renewing your certification, the new continuing education requirements, and explain the new technical and business requirements for credits.

Matt Martin, from NCSU’s Crop Science Department, will give a talk on Turf Pesticides, Disease, and Insects. This update will include pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide information that can be used by Turf Professionals in both commercial and residential settings.

Chris Hassell, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Pesticide Inspector, will be talking about Pollinator Protection, Best Management Practices to Protect Pollinators, and Pesticide Applications in the Landscape.

Gene Fox, Area Agriculture – Consumer Horticulture Agent with NCSU Extension, will give an Area Round-up of the diseases, pests, and other issues seen in turf and ornamentals this past season and what to look for in this area as a professional.

There will be 1 B and 3.5 L continuing education credits for the NCLCLB License and 3.0 Pesticide credits for categories L, D, N, X. Please pre-register with Pam Allen by calling (252)946-0111 or in person at the Beaufort County Extension Office located at 155 Airport Road, Washington, NC 27889 by February 22, 2017. Registration will begin at 11:00 and the class will end at 4:30. Lunch for this event will be provided based upon the number of pre-registrants so please register now to ensure your spot at the table!
